I love dogs. Especially the fury little dogs that have a lot of energy. a few days ago I bought a crazy little puppy with more energy and excitement than most dogs put together. He was a Shiba Inu. I scheduled Max’s class and we went. It was a large place for the dogs to train and gets their excersise. There was a large yard with toys and objects to climb on. We started by letting Max play with the other dogs and allow him to get comfortable with his new school. He was shy at first. All the dog trainers were very good at making the dogs feel at ease with everything. Max had a great time because there were treats at every turn. I love the training facility because it was clean and the employees really seemed to enjoy their jobs.
Well, I think Max has a new home. He learned to sit and come to me when I called him. All in first day! I never thought dog training in New Jersey was going to be so fun and easy. One morning I was watching the news and a special about disciplining dogs came on. It enrolled four dogs in the Washington DC dog training to try and reform them. I then turned to my veterinarian. The vet taught me tricks to correct misbehavior in animals that was “fool-proof”. I’m not sure if Jesse is a genius or a dunce because it didn’t work. Jesse seemed to repel any type of constructive reformation.
This special seemed like my last hope. If it could turn dogs that bit people, barked viciously and ate furniture around I was confident it could help Jesse. After all, Jesse was harmless at heart, he would never hurt anyone. All he needed was a little tough love, or a lot. After watching the news special, I ran to the internet to find out how I could enroll Jesse in such a program. The news station website was actually running a contest where ten people can win the chance to take there dogs to D.C. for training. I am normally not the type to enter contests, but I was hopeful.
Three weeks later, I got a message on my cell phone from a Washington D.C. dog facility I was quite surprised because I had almost forgotten about the entire things. I had to have Jesse in DC in two weeks. I took him to be groomed and get a checkup just in case. Now that he was presentable, I loaded Jesse into the backseat of my truck, even though he’d move up front soon, and set off for D.C. Jesse made a complete transformation by the end of the program. Since that time, I haven’t slept on the couch or had my food taken.
